Default Aux in for 2002 ES300

I'd really like to convert my ash tray to an iPhone dock and connect the audio directly to the stereo and power to behindthe cigarette lighter. Currently I'm using a proclip and tomtom holder but want a cleaner look. My ES300 doesn't have navigation. The only way I found possible is the 28 page thread about hacking the wiring for aux input. But it seems way too complicated. Spek.dock is cool but does have a custom ES300 dock and I'll still have to connect to the stereo somehow. Anyway, any suggestions?

Easiest thing would be to get an aftermarket nav system. But I would run the iPod to the center console though.

How much are we talking about for an aftermarket nav unit? Any suggestions?

Well since you already have the factory NAV system it won't be as big of a hassle. The main part is the dash faceplate, which you already have.

iPod Integration isn't that expensive of a feature, but on double din's they go anywhere from 300 dollars (pioneer) to 600+ (kenwood).

Oops I misread that!

Than you would have to do the Double Din conversion.

For now you might be better off buying one of these:

VIAStech says my 2002 ES300 needs to have navigation, http://www.vaistech.com/manuals/Application_Guide.pdf

DICE says it needs to be 2003, http://diceelectronics.com/mediabridge-for-lexus.html

Hmm, that is weird cause the vaistech PDF says 02-03 needed to have navigation. Can you take a picture of your stereo face and post it here? I'd like to see of it's identical. If it is I might order the vaistech and take the risk.

Hi. Sorry if I missed a different thread here, but I am looking for a simple hardwire connection for my iPhone 4 to my 2003 ES300 (no navigation), with factory radio/cassette/CD player. I went to the Audiovox/DICE website and found it fairly confusing as to what products they had that would work, and how to buy them. I did a compatibility search on the site and it came back with "FM Direct Modulator".

Does anyone have recommendations for best way to connect an iPhone these days to my car? I have grown tired of the poor audio quality of my cassette deck connection.

Thanks, Carl
