ES - 1st to 4th Gen (1990-2006) Forum for all 1990 - 2006 ES300 and ES330 models. ES250 topics go here as well.

Would you trade a 2000 ES300 w/85k for a 2001 IS300 with 80k?.....

Bewildered, I recanted how he just wanted out of his car.

Long story short - no deal yet. They have 7 days and then leave the country. So, he is in a pickle. He aint gonna get $12k for the car and it aint gonna sell in 7-days at that rate - especially it being a 10yr old car.

So... I hold onto my $5k offer with him and he will think about it.
12k for a 2001? LMAO!

If you care about gas mileage, stick with the ES. The IS is great in its own way, but with $4 a gallon, it doesn't make a lot of sense. The car needs a 6th gear - you'll be getting 17-20 mpg.

Right. I get whatever Carmax gives me for my car, he gives me his car + the cash I got. (oh, didn't trade in the car - just got an offer)

Sadly, in this case, not a problem. I work 4.5 miles from the house. I drive less than 4100 miles/yr - which includes a dozen trips to the big city.

Keep in mind that you're not giving enough time for your engine to warm up. Those low miles are actually hurting your car.

I have driven the IS300, it's an okay car. I personally wouldn't trade my ES for one. Now wave an SC400 under my nose and it's a whole new ballgame....
