Default Whoa, what's with all the es330 probs? Should I buy?

Hi all,

About to pull the trigger on a 2005 es330 with 65k miles, nice shape, $13k.

I was just surfing and wow, lots of complaints of transmission, lurching etc.

Is this a solid car or not? Test drive seemed ok, but am I better off with a Camry?

Thoughts?

I'd buy one in a minute. There are lots of issues out there with the 2000 ES300 too... I'm glad I bought one. Stop and consider how many 2005 ES330s are on the road and then figure out how many people are complaining... you have little to worry about I think.

Exactly, people don't usually go online to state how reliable their car was that day.

I have a 04 es, 85000 miles, no problems. Check the car out real good, take a long test drive.

I have a es300 with 170k miles, pretty hard driven and money besides brakes oil, and other neccesary maintnence has come out to be under a grand. The es330 is just as a solid car if not more so, and the interior is beautifully made as well

I'd buy one in a heartbeat. It is a Toyota after-all. You have nothing to worry about they are solid cars.

Have an 05 ES330 with 117,000 km.
Other than brakes and tires, haven't ever spent a cent on it. Nor has it ever been back to the dealer or any mechanic for that matter.
You can't go wrong!

Default No problem

I have a 2004 ES 330 with a 145K and never had a problem. The transmission does jerk from time to time when slowing down and taking off before a full stop. But with so many good things about the car I can't complain to much.

- I agree. I have NOT spend a cent on anything (I replaced the brakes & tires) other than REGULAR oil changes on my 2002 (bought Oct 2001) ES 300 with 101700 miles. Recently, I did transmission drain-&-refill with AMSOil atf. I will change timing belt and water pump soon. That's all. It runs like a champ.

I bought a 2005 ES 330 with 7,000 miles on it in 2007. Best car I've ever owned. I have almost 90,000 miles on it. I changed the trans fluid at 50,000 with the BG system and additives and front struts due to a leak,.Battery lasted seven years. Great car. Front brake pads were changed at 75,000.
