Coolant change questions
So, I was scoping out the underside of my 05, ES330 today in preparation of a coolant change....a couple of questions have come up.
First, where on earth is the rear drain? There is no way I can find it!
Also, I did find the front drain, just to the right of the oil filter....right where it's almost impossible to get at it.
Any tips for getting a hose onto the end of the fitting? I can't fathom how I can get my hand in there....or should I just open the bolt, let it drain into a pan and hope for the best? What size tubing would I use?
Thanks!

The dealers do a simple radiator drain.
Obviously, this does not change out all the coolant -- you are just trying to get anything that settles out in the radiator and to refresh the coolants anticorrosion properties.
Use the correct coolant - Toyota sells the proper fluid already mixed for that model year.

In Canada, the original coolant would last 128 000 km or 96 months. If you top up very often, then it would last much less. When you replaced the original, then Toyota pink would last 64 000 km or 48 months.
In US, the original would last 100K miles.

I have a 98 ES300, but this might help. Try looking at the EGR cooler(driver side of the engine), it's the part from where the EGR tube goes to the top of the engine. I found the drain by pure luck, it was hidden in between the exhaust pipes and the nipple was behind an engine plaque which I only realized after opening the tap. I believe the tubing you need is 1/8" ID.
