New struts to be installed, question on springs??
Guys,
I have a 95 es300 with 113k miles. I have already ordered the toyico struts which should arrive any day. My question is should I keep the same springs or get new ones. I do not want to lower the car, so lowering springs are out of the question. Are springs suppose to last forever? Do they lose there springyness? Are all springs the same size? Can I swap my GS400 springs into my new stuts for the camry...i do not believe this is possible but never hurts to ask.
I hope someone has an answer, cause once they mount the old springs onto the new shocks its a very painful process do undo this and redo with new springs. Just want some clarification on what other's might suggest.
Thanks

struts/springs
hey drew, I just had KYB struts put in the front and rear of my 92 es300 with 78k miles on it. my mechanic, who i trust dearly, told me there is no need to change the springs. anyway, i got the car back this week and it feels like a brand new ride, very happy with my KYB's. Noticeable difference!
cost $550. - installed

You should be able to use your OEM springs still with the Tokico struts, as springs do not necessarily deteriorate over time like struts. However, if there is a physical crack (not the paint) of some sort on the springs, then you should replace it/them. Always get springs specifically made for the car, so no, your GS400 springs will NOT work on your ES300.
