This is a tough but common problem for lexus owners, and once emission inspections come around, you flat have to have it replaced. I had a bad knock sensor bank two, 0330 code. I looked up everything possible on the subject and decided that it was too much work getting under the intake manifold to do myself. Before anything, you need to buy a knock sensor. If you really look, you can get a great deal, primarily on eBay. I got mine on an auction for about $27, although others are likely more. I am pretty confident that anything you get online is as good or better deal than the dealer. Next, take it to your repair shop, obviously one that will accept installing your own part (some do not). There are all kinds of crazy estimates for this job you will see online even ranging in the $1000's, but my Toyota shop did it for about $350 (7am to 11am), and even replacing a gasket and coolant. For this price, I felt it was worth it rather than trying to do an unfamiliar procedure myself, and risking not having an operating vehicle. It was a big relief to have this over with.

Try this link. I know it's for a Sienna but it's the same engine 1mz-fe. I just replaced one of my sensors not too long ago using this link. http://www.findonefindall.com/toyota...ock_sensor.htm
While I had access I replaced my rear valve cover gasket and replaced the spark plugs. Something to think about if they haven't been changed lately.
oops! I see this is an old thread. Maybe someone else can use the link.
