2000 es300 - air cleaner hose which one is it?
I had faced dilemma because of probably wrong parts picture in dealers list. i would like to clean my intake to remove the carbon. When I tried to remove the clamps from the hoses going to throttle body, the rubber started to break a part. So I decided to get the new hoses also and replace the bad once. When i called dealer they told me that I need No.2 Air cleaner hose, but when called the other dealer to see if they have them in stock, I was told I need No.1 Air cleaner hose. Which one is it?
Can anyone check and tell me if the No1 is between throttle body and resonator? or between resonator and air assembly?
This is 2000 ES 300, if you have part number it would be helpful. I assume both hoses between throttle body and the resonator are the same.

Sorry I don't have the part numbers, but I always get my parts from this dealer.

I went to dealer and it looks like there is three option of hoses; brazil, 98-99, and 99-up. I physically showed them the parts in the car, they will get it for me. cost 42.95$ each.
Anyone knows what needs to be done to clean throttle body intakes?

The reason the hoses are different is because the ES received Variable Valve Timing in '99. To clean the TB, just get some Carb Cleaner and some shop towels.

I'm not sure about the 99-01 but for my 98 I removed all the intake hoses with the resonator. I then disconnected two electrical connectors from the TB and removed three hoses that attach at the bottom (2 are for coolant and 1 is for the fuel rail). I didn't touch the throttle cables, as that was too complicated to remove. Then just unbolt the TB and slide it off. To clean it, I sprayed the cleaner on a paper towel and applied it to the TB.

i had cleaned the front portion of the TB, but then i started reading about taking the whole TB off. I had a concern about taking it a part and finding out that I need to replace gaskets which I did not have. So, I just cleaned the front of the intake and it helped.
Also, since I had P0420 code showing in my reader I was planning on replacing the O2 sensor after cleaning TB, but the Engine Check and Traction Light went off. I still have the sensor but don't plan on replacing it unless it comes on again.
