Awesome Audio Build 3ES
#5
It's a 6.5" driver in the lower mount. The thread was started in May 2009 and last post of any kind was April 2010. The install is already done, don't know if it's finished as he never posted any pics after the initial fiberglassing of the door panels. He did state that the bass foundation was excellent even without the 2 12" subs in the trunk. Excellent JL Audio amps make this a very well done setup. Would love to hear it.

Guys, that is my build over on DIYMA......I have more pics available I can put here to show off the glove box install (Alpine S624 Changer w/ optical out). I have completed everything except for recovering the doors. When you have 2 kids, a wife, own a house (w/ no garage - and need awesome weather too work outside), tos of yardwork, and work retail management (basically on call 24/7), there leaves very little time to get anything done.
I live in the Metro west area of Ma. if anyone is intrested in hearing the system. The mid bass slams up front.......Singing voice is centered right over the dash, staging and imaging are dead nuts on w/ a wide open soundstage.
Questions? Ask away!
Thanks,
Chris

I found some pictures of my glovebox CD Changer install. Here they are......
This is the OEM trim piece from the stock location that I cut to fit my Alpine CD Changer.
I used some modeling wood for the trim pieces around the opening. You can see on the
left handside that I had to close up the OEM hole a little.
Next I used some body filler to make a contour from the trim piece to the trim ring and
sanded using 400 & 800 grit paper.
Just a quick shot of the bottom, had ot rough it up a little to accept some rattle can paint
After 3 light coats of black paint - looks pretty good
Took apart the face of the Alpine CD Changer and removed the Logo (filled in with body filler)
All sanded down smooth, ready for some paint.
CD Changer mounted with OEM trim piece.
OK, everything put back together................
Glovebox open and everything in place.
I got more, just gotta find them on one of my thumb drives I have.

Your setup is SICK, next time I find myself out near worcester I'll hit you up, I'd love to hear what that sounds like. I've always thought the stock Pioneer system was impressive, but I'm feeling those placement of the speakers you choose. Also wondered what to do with the now useless CD changer that my Avic headunit can't read, maybe replace it with something else, who knows. well done though.
