Default ES300 Passenger and Driver Seat Back Interchangeable?

Hello -
I have a 2000 Lexus ES300 and the leather drivers seat (back part, not seat bottom) is starting to really show wear.

Is there a way I can take the seat back (enter set back, not really wanting to remove the cover) from the Driver Side and exchange it with the Passenger side?

The bottom of the seats are fine so I don't want to get involved in changning out the seat bottoms unless that is required.

Your help and support is greatly appreciated in advance.

thanks
kp

Don't see how since the driver's seat has an electric lumbar support that the passenger seat lacks.

Also, and more importantly, the side air bags, which are located on the back part of the seats (on the door sides) will end up in the wrong location if you switch the backs of the seats around.

So the answer is that they are not interchangeable.

How bad is the damage? You might still be able to fix it up. The most important part is to regularly apply a leather conditioner to keep it from drying out.

Glad I checked. I did not think about the SRS...

Can I change the seat covers? that is, take the top of the seat cover off the passgenger and switch it with the drivers side.
Also, how hard is this to do? I don't want to end up with a bigger mess than I already have.

thanks in advance.

Can't do that either, as the AirBag sides have special stitchings that allows the Airbags to pop through. The Non-Airbag sides have different stitchings. So the two sides are NOT interchangable.

Your best bet will be to have the seat leather repaired professionally. It will look like new and is not that expensive.

There are many You Tube Videos on how its done

Post a picture of the damaged seat if you can.
