Unhappy Prob...Prob...No sound with new stereo..

Hey guys sup.. Today I tried installing my first and brand new stereo for my 96. It's a Panasonic Cq-df402u. It came with this wire adapter, TURBOWIRE. I began to connect all of the wires until I reached the part for speakers.

I had 2 choices, I think, 1:attach the turbowire plugs to the plugs that came with the stereo, which i tried but didn't work.(no sound)
or 2: attach the wires from the stereo to the plug, 2 wires +,- to each plug.

One thing that i think could be a conflict was when I managed to attach all the wires from the turbowire, i had one wire left, the amplifier, BUT there was no where to tie it to, no wire was coming out of the stereo..

Can someone plz help me.. I could use it THANKS

Oh ya, I went to some car technichian. and he said that the amplifer that came standard with the LEXUS ES300 '96 could not procide sound for the stereo..

Is this correct? Has anyone else had this problem with their 96

If this helps, I also dont have any extra subs or amps hooked up to the car, YET.

Ok please all help is welcome. Thanks in advance

I had this exact same problem when I put an aftermarket unit in my BMW. Unfortunately, I don't remember super-technical details about it, because I had a more knowledgeable friend fix it for me.

The not hooked up amp wire is most likely your problem. You need the aftermarket head unit to tell the factory amp to turn on, to power the speakers. I vaguely remember splicing the remote antenna power lead and amp on lead together into the the Metra harness. I had previously left both disconnected. That car didn't even have a power antenna, but I hooked it up to just be safe.

Thanks man, but can you tell me how it would work with a lexus 96.

Before i had my power antenna with 2 plugs, i think, one thicker than the other. I only plugged the thick one in but left thinner one hanging freely.

Does anyone know why there are 2 plugs? I need some help please.

Also you said that you wired something togethor to the amplifier?
Did the technichian add or create a new link to the amplifier wire leading out of adapter?

I believe i wired everything togehtor only the sound is not working to my best concern.

Please help.
