radar detector for my Lex
does anybody know anything about the Valentine 1 radar detectors? i'm thinking about getting one, but they're expensive, so i wanna make sure that i get a good deal. if anybody knows anything about them or actually has a radar detector themself, please lemme know some info about em. thanks

i borrowed someones old school passport, it hasnt beeped yet...BUT I havent seen any cops...all I can say that if you HAVE the money get a V1. They are the best radar detector on the market, I dont care what anyone else says...but the studies are there, and its got the arrows to tell you where its coming from and it can tell ya 2 bogies at once. so it will like point forward and to the right if there are 2 speed traps ahead. go to www.valentineone.com I think thats the site...good luck!

My dad has a V1 too. They are the very best!!! They have the most comprehensive band detection available.
If your gonna get a radar dector, get a V1, I don't even use my radar (Whistler 400 series) anymore, such crap (horrible 360 degree detection, false alarm about every 15 sec, not efficient at detecting anything other than X band, etc,) your better off driving without, than with a cheap radar detector.

i'm getting one between now and dec 13 (the day i start driving - legally). they're GREAT radar detectors. if you have the money... get one. it will be one of the best investment's you will ever make. and since it's removable (unless hardwired), you can take it with you anywhere. 
if possible get a ver. 1.8. it should be the latest version. the 1.7's are no different, but most are used.

i'm not sure about an led display, but they have a concealed unit. which doesn't do too much, since the unit has to be able to go through the front and back windows. so the real unit will still be in sight.
