Question Need help

my es300 has been sitting for 2 weeks and i just got back and started it, it started fine bu the TRAC OFF light was illuminated. It ran perfectly for about 5 minutes and i drove it around a little bit. All of a suden it starts sputtering and sounds like its going to die. It barely accelerates and sounds like its going to conk out. While this is happening the TRAC OFF light is still on and the CEL is flashing on and off. i pulled it into the garage and turned it off. I started it a little bit later and it was still sputtering so i shut it off again. Has anyone experienced this? I know it needs new engine mounts, could that be a related problem? Any input i really need thanks, i don't think ican even drive this to the mechanic

That trac light comes on when ever an issue with the engine. It is a safety thing with the computer in the car knocking it off because it sees another problem and wants to protect itself from more issues. The issues you describe could be a hundred things. Need to get the codes to find out what is exactly wrong.

After two weeks of the car just sitting aaround, you could have ended up with some moisture in the fuel.

How much fuel is in the tank? When was the last time that you filled it up?

Fuel was at half tank and probably 2.5 weeks ago. It was parked in a garage if that matters. If it was a fuel problem, i don't think it would run perfectly then after 5 minutes once it warmed up start to studder, but i don't kno. Tow truck coming tomorrow morning at 830 and bringing to lexus. Ill get a loaner either tomorrow or friday

Typical issue for VVTi engines of that generation.

The engine does seem to be running smoother and sounds healthier then it did before. As to performance probably the same, if anything its me just trying to justify the 300 bucks ha

Problem resolved, it was the oil control valve. Had it towed to the dealership in the morning and got it back last night
