What have you done to your ES today?

These things are a break dust factory.
And make a horrible "rubbing" noise while slowly realesing the brake pedal.
Stay away from Bendix CQ ceramic pads and stick with OEM.

I have Bendix ceramic pads on the rear of my Solara. Yes there is some brake dust, but I don't have any rubbing noises. Did you lube your caliper slider pins and brake pad ends (where it goes into the caliper brackets) thoroughly?

I'm just dissapointed of the results of these pads compared to my OEM toyota blue pads... Looks like ill be taking a trip to the dealership soon...

I've used the Centric Posi-quiet pads on a number of cars they are always good. Just did the full brake job on my ES, decided to try the Centric "OEM Formula" pads very happy with them so far. Centric has become my go to brand for brake parts, they don't make anything bad that I have found, except the StopTech street pads.

Just changed my bank 1 sensor 1 oxygen sensor, air intake tube (it was cracked in half ), air filter and finally a oil change as well. About an hour and half for everything.
Next up, replace drivers side taillight and 3rd taillight bulbs, transmission drain and fill, flush the power steering system and refill with the proper fluid, the previous owner used normal power steering fluid in it!

Washed both cars today.
A few days ago I took apart the calipers and discs and painted them black. Changed out the brake fluid and bled the system upon installation.
The black gives it that understated look that goes well with a white luxury car. Better than looking at the rust that was on the calipers and rotors :

Agreed! I always did it that way and it looks best, and 'clean'. Upon mixing it up this year with silver, I came to realize black is best and will be re-doing it sometime this week I hope...

Whew, it's been a busy week! I replaced the drivers side taillight assembly due to the original being cracked, 3rd brake light bulbs were replaced, transmission drain and fill along with replacing the filter for it, replaced the spark plugs (all I can say about the spark plugs is that I'm glad it only needs to be done once in a great while, those back three....) and ended up having a surprise replacement, the EGR vacuum modulator. The P0401 code came about hour or so after I had driven it with the new oxygen sensor and intake tube, I looked it up on here and everything pointed to the vac mod. Sure enough, the membrane had a hole and was leaking. That seems to be a common occurrence on these things, and the code always seems to come up after the replacement of an oxygen sensor. Weird.
In short though it's running 100% better than it was before, it has some real pick me up and go now and runs much more smoothly.
