What have you done to your ES today?

Nice, I got lucky the wheels only spent one season in the winter then put in the garage, so no peel or anything, in perfect shape ha, and it's nice, definitely drives better than our 2008. A large part of the reason I continue to service my cars at the dealer is because of the loaner program if I'm honest. For a little more, I get a free detail, free coffee, and a car to use for the day

Bled be brake system, but only after snapping a bleeder screw and having to run to Napa an hour before the closed to put on the new caliper. I tried getting the old bleeder screw out and snapped the drill bit. I was surprised there was air in the system, I just assumed the ES pedal was really soft

On the next round, I would drop the pan and clean it out. If it's that nasty, the fluid has probably been loaded fully and dropped precipitate in the pan. The new fluid will load up with that right away.

I will try to drop the pan either on the next drain and fill or the 3rd round. The fluid still had some red in it that doesn't show up in the photo. Didn't smell burnt or anything either. Interestingly I drained about 4.25 quarts from the tranny. I was only expecting to drain a max of 4. Anyone else drain over 4 quarts on a drain and fill?

If you leave it open a long time, more will drain out. Or it could be overfilled. It is hard on these to get the stick read correctly when running. May have been overfilled. Try to do the pan drop next time to prevent the new fluid getting diry faster.

After a trip to San Diego from Missouri and having to replace the rear calipers, pads, and rotors (in San Diego - boy, they charge a lot there) I came back home to Missouri and replaced the front pads and had the rotors resurfaced. A lot cheaper on my home turf!

Cv axle swap Manual Es 300
Took me about 3 hours to do the first and only an hour and a half for the second. These things can be a pain but thankfully I was patient and everything works great now. My passenger side bearings were essentially gone!!! So nice to cruise down the road in 3rd without hearing that awful grinding.

Busy week and a half for me and my 2001 ES300:
1) Both axles and axle seals.
2) Transmission drain and fill
After doing both axles and seals, the crank seal started leaking like crazy. Turns out that someone put cheap aftermarket seals in. So ended up doing:
3) Thermostat and gasket
4) Timing belt and water pump
5) Cam seals x2, crankshaft seal
6) Oil pan reseal, oil change
Then I accidentally folded one of the cam seals, so I ended up tearing it all apart again just to do one cam seal.
Parts I replaced:
1) Crankshaft timing pulley (ruined it taking it off)
2) Timing belt guide
3) Timing belt
4) Water pump
5) Cam seals
6) Crank seal
7) Crank pulley bolt
8) Cam pulley bolts (someone stupid used an air hammer to get the old ones off).
9) Thermostat and gasket
10) Radiator hoses
11) Axles
12) Axle seals x2
13) P/S belt and alt belt
Cost about $500. All Toyota parts except for axles.
Now it has a vibrating noise at low RPM that I need to figure out. Man this car is kicking my butt.

Detailed my '04
It's been a while since I posted. New updates include Halo headlights, dark tint, clear side-markers and 18 inch wheels wearing Pirelli 245/45s.
I've replaced nearly every moving part on this machine ($$) and intend to drive it for life.

On my recently-acquired '98 ES 300, I applied Rain-X water repellent to the windshield and replaced the wiper blades with these excellent Denso units! Very impressed with the Denso wiper blades - they match the low-profile OEM blades on most newer Toyotas while working and looking much better than what the previous owner had put on from Target...
I also washed the car and applied Meguires "Ultimate Liquid Wax" to try to stop the paint oxidation it's been suffering from... Finally, I had a cold beer :-).
