I love my General Exclaim UHP's. WICKED tire for cheap. They last a while too given they use a good compound.

for stock tires, the kumho ecsta lx platinum are very good for the money. they last long, are very quiet, and are relatively cheap compared to other brands. I've had two sets on my car already and no complaints.

215/60-16 is the stock tire size. Go to tirerack.com. Great site to get reviews.

basically, if you just want bang for the buck tires, you should look for something that's not a popular brand name product.

try Falken, Cooper, General, maybe Goodyear
all manufacturers have medium to low end all season tires, they all perform similarly but the only difference is basically how long they last and how well they age.

I had some Harmony's (basically the same tire as Destiny) and liked them a lot, excellent tire. Their strengths are ride quality, quietness and tread life. They sacrifice dry grip slightly according to some, but I never noticed.

I meant I got them from Discount Tire. I made the same thread in the Tire section and someone told me this. Should I return them??

"One other problem is that those tires do not meet the same specs as the OEM tires on your car. Your car came with a factory speed rating of V. This means that it has a relatively high performing tire on there with relatively stiffer sidewalls and better overall performance. The Destiny is available in S and T ratings which is a significant step down from V. H, which is one step down is acceptable, IMO, but not S or T which is 2 or 3 steps down. If you follow the link you supplied and click where it says "Find out if this tire fits my vehicle" you will see that your car is not listed.

I would take them back and tell them you found out they aren't appropriate for your car. "

I didn't realize that you had a 2002 ES, that is your car right? I had mine on a 1993 Camry, which is a lighter car for sure. What that person is saying about ratings does hold some merit, but I'll let the experts answer for sure.

All depends on how you drive your car. If you push your tires to the limit of their adhesion then yes you should return these tires as they will lose grip much sooner than the V rated tires that came with the car. OTOH, if you drive normally and only occasionally push the car and not the limit of your current tires then you'll likely never know the difference...

Then the tires you have will work just fine. FWIW, a V rated tires is good up to 149mph for a sustained period of time. A T rated tires is 118mph, S rated 112mph. Typically, the higher the speed rating the softer the tread compound and the stiffer the sidewall so, all things being equal, the higher the speed rating the faster you can push the car into a corner before reaching the tires adhesion limit and the longer you can run the car at very high speeds. All of this has far more to do with the autobahn than it does with driving here in the states. You will be just fine.
