2000 es300 5 speed swap from Solara V6?
What is the possiblitiy of swapping in the 5 speed manual transmission from the v6 manual toyota solara? The cars share the same engine so wouldn't it be possible to swap the tranny?

It should be do-able. Just like the 2ES swap with the camry equivalent.
It would bolt up, its the 'other' work that can get tedious... a backyard mech. i know had this done for someone on a 2es. Ran into issues like reverse light switch when engaged into Reverse. Also, going to have to play with fitting in the clutch pedal. Again, safely assuming you can get your hands on a pedal assy. from the Solara as a whole swap.
Might have to play with piggybacking & splicing the trans. harness/ecu to work with the ECM in your ES.
I say give'r if you have a spare car to drive around while you tackle this!

it's entirely possible with enough patience and resources.
i did a I4 auto to V6 5speed swap on my previous camry, but the motor was 3VZ-Fe instead of the 1MZ.
took me a month to complete with help of couple of good friends.
i think you are better off with a donor car if you can find one.

If u can get all the parts needed from the donor car it is possible and the trans harness can be a bit tricky. U need to put a jumper wire to the park/neutral safety switch and couple other things to make it work. VVTi V6 with a 5 speed sounds like fun

So really all thats needed is the tranny, clutch pedal, clutch cables, and the shifter? It should all bolt up, but would just need some electrical work to get everything working properly?
Also would the I4 solara tranny work? Or would it be too weak to handle the power of the v6 engine, because the I4 trannys are very easy to find as opposed to the v6.

there's way more little stuff than the things you just listed man.
there's the clutch master cylinder, clutch lines, drive shafts, half shaft, a different tranny mount...
you need the brake pedal as well because manual cars have a smaller brake pedal. auto brake pedal will be really close to the clutch pedal, terrible for driving.
the 4 banger 5 speed tranny works fine actually. I have a buddy that used a 4 banger 5 speed transmission with a 3MZ 3.3 v6 block and 1MZ head, just get a decent clutch and it handles the power just fine.
the 92~93 5 spd works as well, but they are hard to find.
once again, you are better off with a donor car. maybe a manual 4 banger camry.
