The brake light warning is only for the brake lights. Your lowbeams can both be burnt and it won't trigger anything. Or all your bulbs on the back less the brakes can be out an it won't trigger it. But yeah, it has something to do with the cars power load - I've seen it in the reflection before, the brakes are a tad dimmer than normal when the warning light is on. Otherwise, a tad 'brighter'

I wanna go all led but I'm to lazy to replace my bulbs and figure them all out size wise. Lol. But they look so good! I needed to replace the top portion of my taillights but I like the way they look with the bottom only lit. Reminds me of my s13 coupe...

Found a "before shot" of the rear end. This was before I bought it.

I also found a video that I shot of the rear end on my first start-up, I did it to check for any smoke out of the tail pipe. Well it worked out perfectly, because the camera was directly pointed at the license plate lights. And according to the video, they didn't work before either.

No, but I'm going to try to replace the license plate lights and see if that fixes it. If it's not that, then I'll replace the bulbs in the inner lights.

I replaced my license plate bulbs, so they're working now, but I'm still getting the idiot lamp when I hit the brakes.

I don't know if I mentioned this already, but the warning only comes on when my lights are on (the inner ones). For example, during daytime I get no warning because only the corner lamps are working.

I was going through the parts catalog just now and I noticed something. The earlier models(97-99) use a 5W bulb and a 21W bulb. While the older models (00-01) use a 5W bulb and a 16W bulb. I think that difference is what's causing my car to light up a warning sign.

Default Problem Solved!

Never mind. I decided to try using the bulbs from my older lights and realized that the current bulbs are just old and not bright enough. No more warning light.

It seems like the original bulb is Koito E4 (5W). The new part number is 00060-00192. For my license plate, I just got some generic ones from my local Auto Parts store and they work great. Paid $1.50 for two of them.
