Default Replacement Stereo Humming / Buzzing

Hello I am new to this forum. The display in my 98 ES 300 stereo went blank so I decided to replace it with a Sony stereo from a local auto stereo shop recommended to me by a friend. There is a humming / buzzing sound, like cicadas in the summer, noticeable even when the volume is down. The sound gets louder when I accelerate. The stereo shop can't figure out what is causing it, he also tried Pioneer and JVC units and is getting the same. Anyone else had this experience? Any ideas for how to fix it?

1. Put in Ground Loop Isolators
2. Check your grounds
3. Run power cables opposite the RCA's

Forgive me for my ignorant question but where exactly do you hook ground loop isolators. Is it in between the new aftermarket HU and the pre-amp RCA connections?

You're gonna want to place them in between the headunits harness and the car's wire harness. If you are doing a full system you won't have a wire harness for the stock system, but then again you probably won't need ground loop isolators either.

Make sure the isolators are running the right way. Also some isolators have ground wires that are to be connected to the chasis of the headunit. If you don't ground these properly the isolators won't function correctly.

I had this same issue when I installed my double din. I just did a complete bypass of the factory amp. Now I put some P2's in there. They pound so hard that I can't hear anymore anyways.
