Exclamation 93 ES300 does quick jerk/jump when put in drive or reverse

i just noticed this that whenever i put into Drive or Reverse the i can hear and feel that the tranny will do a quick jerk and jump with a quiet pop noise feels like the clutch is worn but i also have a 95 camry v6 it usually engages into drive smoothly slower , i checked the ATF which is red. my question is if your es300 does the samething how long will the tranny last when its like this, the car really drives normal i just worried about the life of the tranny.

My car does the same thing, transmission was replaced 2 years ago according to the book though, so it may not be entirely the trannys fault.

Could be the tranny mount, or engine mounts (less likely)

Certainly a possibility.

The dogbone mount near the coolant overflow wears often and hard. Made a big difference for me. Is it idleing too high? even a couple hundred RPM's when my IACV would act up would cause a hard jerk into drive or reverse.

Make sure you have it looked at -- if it is the transmission you want to have it fixed before it does any more damage and if it is something as simple as one of the mounts -- the same thing applies.

Any jerking will only put more strain on other aging parts -- not good
