Audio wiring on CarPC
Hey everyone, would love your help
at the moment I have a Mac mini installed in my glovebox, every things working fine except i get an exceptional amount of interference through my audio cables.
My setup goes like this:
2Channel RCA output from soundcard-->female-female plugs--->1-2channel converter-->Factory speakers
And a remote turn-on for the amp.
I can still hear the audio from my computer loud and clear, but the interference is also VERY loud
I am running the audio cables quite close to the power, but when plugged into a different set of listening device (Wireless headphones) it works perfect.
So what should i do to help this problem?
would better quality cables work better, or will i have to get the drill out and find a new place to run my audio cables
Thanks for your time, and sorry if this post is all over the place.

Okay, after some more testing i have deducted it is NOT any of the aftermarket stuff i have put in, I'm going on the possibility that it may be the factory stereo wiring being near the power cable.
Still, tips on reducing noise in a setup like this would be hugely appreciated

Okay, another problem just came up, the stereo ignition wire has became backwards, it supplies a signal when the car is off, but when turned on it stops the signal.
I didn't touch anything to do with it at all, so any suggestions? :s
EDIT: For now I've just settled with using the cigarette lighter cable.
But unfortunately my stock deck isn't working any more, assuming because of this problem, cause all other cables are tested and working fine :\
EDIT2: Also, the security system isn't working.
ill have to have a look at the modules behind the glovebox tomorrow.

*sigh* ALLLLL BY MYSEEEELFFFF
ANYWAYS
Ive figured out the noise is a Ground Loop problem.
Im getting an isolator sent in the next couple of weeks as I've tried several different ground points, but it still just wants to run through the RCA's -_-
Unless anybody wants to tell me where the ground point for the amp is, that would save a lot of trouble
I still haven't figured out whats wrong with the ignition signal on the stereo wiring :s quite annoying if i ever want to resell the car or put the stock stereo back in.
And the alarm problem... well ill just say I'm a moron and one of the doors wasn't latched properly
