2000 es300 alternator belt tension

2000 es300 alternator belt tension
What is the recommended alternator belt tension for 2000 es300? It does not have auto belt tensioner.
I put on new belt yesterday and it squealed on start up when cold. So I tightening it some more and and it doesn't make squeal noise any more. Belt is tight... Maybe 1/2 " flex between alt and harmonic balance with 2-3 pounds of pressure. I don't want to damage anything with belt on too tight.
