I took the battery out and removed the fuse box on my 2000 ES, but no access. The next possiblility is going through the wheel well. Before I embark I wanted to ask if anyone else had done this and how they did it.

You are doing it way too complicated.

For both parking lights, you just take the whole light unit out.

First you have to take out the screw, and then put your palm on the parking light and push it towards the front of the car and it will pop out. If it doesn't come out, you have to hit it a few times towards the front of the car with your palm.

It is basically held in by one screw and one clip IIRC.

Chalk me up for a dumbass award...The one screw was hidden under the plastic hood shrowding (I think that's what its called). Anyway one screw and the thing popped out without a lot of effort. Bulb changed. Problem solved.
