the noise sounds like the LARGE belt that the a/c clutch will engage onto when it does.

what belt is this?

IF the noise happenes when the AC clutch engages, it;s likely the AC Compressor itself making the noise.

Sorry I should be more specific.

It makes the sound if the A/C compressor is on or off. I was just saying the belt I hear making the ones is the one that DRIVES the a/c comp and is a long belt. Not that it makes the sound when using A/C

I am guessing I need a new drive (serpertine) belt. Is that about right?

It sounds more like a bad pulley than a belt. I could be wrong though

is there an easy way to be for sure? Spray some water on the belt or something? or what?

Inspect the belt for wear and check the tension. I'm guessing here, but I think if it was the belt, then you would be able to see abnormal wear.

I noticed a similar noise on my car a few days ago. Today, I noticed that the noise intensifies when I turn off my lights, and quiets down when I turn them on. I think it's a a bad pulley, but I don't know which one.
