Default stock air intake diagram

Does anyone have one for a 2004 es330? I was doing some work and cant figure out what that first part is that has a for lack of better description a flap that moves you allow air in but I cant seem to find any info about what it does. Thanks for the help in advance

And I dont mean the throttle body its the part all the way up front

its an air snorkel with a flapper valve that opens at high rpm for more air induction but closes for less noise at low rpms.
i removed and defeated this with my injen intake.
i know all about this intake system so i can field any questions.

ya I have some XP with intakes but I never saw anything like it does it hinder mpg? I had a short ram air intake on my maxima I also removed the dust catcher that was at the bottom of the other plastic tubing

not really. its mainly to keep noise down.
i love the injen SRI i have on my ES. one of the best upgrades thus far

I agree I saw your pictures very nice by the way. How did you remove that thing I see a senser on it

you can just disconnect it and the system disables it. 2 weeks + and no CEL. (knock on wood)
