Exclamation XCEL Tranmission Fluid in ES 300

Hey guys. I have a 2002 Lexus ES 300 that I put XCEL UNIVERSAL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID TYPE A into. I didn't even put half a quart in there, but filled it up a little bit since it was a little low. I bought this car back in May 2011 so I don't know what the previous owner used although he said he serviced at Lexus dealer.

So my question is will this or could this negatively affect my Lexus?

I've never heard of this brand, what does it say on the label? You can get the service history printed out at the Lexus dealer if they really did take the car there.

It says on the back it's to be used when Dextron or Mercrun isn't available. And that it can be used in Ford, Chrysler, and other European and Japanese cars.

And I'm not concerned about previous records, just wanted to know if this will affect my Lexus.

I believe the manual calls for T-4 from Toyota. I would use that.

Nope. Simply drain the trans (about 3.5 qts) and refill with T-4.

You will be fine.

I see it as Type IV compatible,

Even if it weren't the amount you put in is negligible.

I'm running Royal Purple in my ES, shifting has definitely improved versus the OE stuff. I get quicker but smoother shifts, and the occasional lazy downshift that used to happen on a decline is less noticeable. I'm not sure but I also think my mileage improved slightly.

I did a full flush BTW, almost none of the old fluid was left in the tranny.
