Need advice or feedback on HID Fogs or LED's Fogs for wife's ES300
Hello All.
Purchased a gorgeous 01 ES300 in Graphite Grey with Black Interior and HID headlights....(I know you guys are so jealous...:P)
She wanted the cool look of the yellow fogs(bottom) so I purchased some yellow h3 bulbs from a local tuner store and the output wasnt as good as expected.
I was wondering if any of you have had experiences with HID or LED H3 Fogs?
I was going to purchase this LED bulb....
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...WHP.htm#photos
..since it was easier then purchasing and splicing in a HID kit which I know for a fact that the HIDs will probably melt the plastic foglight housing..
I did do a search and didnt find anything....i would appreciate the guidance.
Worse come to worse i might just order the LED and post up ...

Get the Putco Jet Yellow bulbs. Our vendors here have it a good price.
Those bulbs you bought were probably the generic 5$ bulbs from ebay with a label.
I've had; those generic bulbs, HID's. HID's bubbled the chrome in my housing, and the yellow's were ****ty for output.
The best way to make them yellow is with a capsule conversion:
But that involves baking open and sealing it. Plus removing the reflector for better output.
And those LEDs - LOL, worst output ever, might as well tape two flashlights to the bumper instead of running those in your fogs.

do not do LED fogs ...they suck. just for show but useless for output..Left side LED and right is OEM H3. See the difference. I bought that LED from superbrightled.com. Had to return it back
Instead i just painted the lens with yellow special spray paint. did not effect the output .Also i changed the fog angle and made it bit higher. I can see the huge difference @ night..Meh m happy with it. .......for now.
As for the LED DRL you will need some kind of module. because i also installed 9005 LED but the wont stay on. unless you have high beam on all the time. I think this is what you want. http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/D...97704-1-3.html
I will be buying it soon
oh do post pics of you car.

It is a pretty involved process. You have to remove your fog lights, bake them and remove the lens. Then you have to cut the bulb shield and attach the yellow capsule. It took me a few hours to get everything done. The hard part will be finding a yellow capsule, they are getting more and more rare. I think there is a pair on Ebay right now, I have the Integra ones. If you don't want to do all that, I recommend getting Luminics yellow bulbs, they are pretty decent.

^^ you have to know where to look, I had three pairs before I settled on attempting this with oem Lexus ones (the ones with Shield above). The integra ones I had were h3c so the fit sucked and would involve more work than assumed.
The new ones I have above, are actual H3's so I can simply bored the existing hole, epoxy it in place, and install the bulb. I might remove or modify the chrome cap inside the foglights to get more output.
