how to tell if my 2002 es300 has VSC or trac?

I have an 02 es300 and think I have vsc but I am not sure...

When I see sun hit the dashboard, I can see a cutout for vsc light in the leftmost cluster. I have never seen this light up though.

How can I tell? I have my VIN as well

I am wondering the same. Also have an 02 ES and it has the VSC thing on the dashboard. But I've seen it light up once when I accelerated too quickly from a light while it was raining outside.

Also is there a way to turn it off/on? I would really like to know

you have both. there should be a TRAC OFF button on the lower right drivers side panel below the steering wheel.

I do not have this button either. I do not think I have trac or vsc. It was not standard equipment for 2002

how can I know for sure?

The manual will tell you if you have the ability to turn it off or not.
I believe it was an option that year.

TRAC & VSC is basically traction control. If you got traction control, there is a button near your right knee to disable it

i dont think it was standard on '02 's. I dont have the button.

how do you know if your trac is on/off I press it nothing shows up on the icon, unless its burnt out.

When you press the TRAC OFF button on near your right knee/shin if you were seated in the vehicle, then a TRAC OFF orange light will appear on the gauge cluster. THE VSC and Traction Control icon come on, only when the system is prompted.
