Have 99 ES300. I understand that when the engine is cold it shifts late until it warms up but I have had a an intermittent problem with the transmission not shifting into OD when warm. Had this problem twice before and ended up changing knock sensors. This fixed problem both times but the knock sensors are only about 4 months old. Is there something else that could be causing this problem or causing the knock sensors to go bad in such a short time?

How is your fluid, is it at proper level, how old is it? Possibly electrical problem with shift solenoid.
