axle assemblies
I have a 1992 es300 with just under 60,000 miles. I knew there were a couple issues with it when purchasing it recently. I changed both axle assemblies because I saw a small crack in 1 boot and It had a very noticeable clunk when stepping on and off of the accelerator. I grabbed the son-in-law to give me a hand and we changed em up on a sat morning. Well, I never drove the car for a week and the wife hadn't said anything about it, of course she doesn't usually notice much with a car except if it's out of gas. It now clunks worse then before, or just as bad. I'm confused, as I thought that was the obvious fix. Has anyone else had and done the same? and what did you do next? .Oh yah when I purchased them one was a brand new one and one was a re-furbed one. I didn't think anything of it., cause he said it was same as new. Well sure enough if the refurb one didn't swivel the same when putting in the grease etc and I wondered then if it was ok, well sure enough if it sounded like I had rocks scratching inside the axle when we got them done and i knew it had to be that one. We took it out and went and got a new one and then it went in good and sounded fine etc. thx in advance ......

I just changed my driver's side axle assembly on my 95 es300, as well as the front engine mount and tie rod. i know the wheel bearing needs to be replaced, maybe it could also be your problem. I have a new whole hub assembly coming in today with bearing included.
