Suspension overhaul help
This is my first time posting to the site so I may not know much but learn quick. I bought my Es 300 with suspension problems and now the time has come to fix them. It's a 1996 and the rear struts are the big issue. I'm guessing though that springs and whatever else is under there has received a lot of wear with the struts not doing their job. So I'd like to replace everything and while I'm at it want to drop the car just a little.. Just for a sportier look not to the ground. Please send suggestions cuz I'm having trouble deciding between coilovers, air, or gas, most of this is foreign to me so any help is appreciated

Thanks for the info I appreciate it.. But I'm still hesitant to place an order. What parts will I actually need to install? I feel like there's more to it but I'm wanting to go with the kybs or eibach

^ I saw that KYB mount that includes the accordion looking rubber thing that is supposed to go around the polished shaft for the strut, if i get that, along with the strut thats all i need? And will the KYB strut mount (for the rears) work with any strut or just the KYB struts.

I'm about to go through this with my daughter's '96 too (front and rear - 185,000 miles on the car & original suspension). I'm going to get the KYB struts, strut mounts, and upper and lower pads for both front and rear. I don't want to lower the car (young driver who still flies through the dips) so will probably stick with the stock springs, but would consider replacing if I can find some that don't lower the car and are relatively cheap. Slightly firmer that don't lower would be ideal I'm thinking. I'm also going to replace the sway bar bushings and possibly the end links - all this starts to add up, but then again you want to do it right...
