I'm sick of everyone telling me, "Why are you wasting time and money modifying this car? It's not a sports car so don't try to make it one." Well guess what? It is. So if anyone else gets harassed about this same issue, just use this as your closing argument (straight from lexus.com):

I don't really, but I'm 17 and live with my parents still (who legally own the car), and they won't let me do anything to it on the grounds that it's "not a sports car."

+1 on the parents, they might have already been down that path.

Save your money, buy the car from them, then they won't have any problems.
As of now, I'm sure they are wanting to keep the car stock and keep the value up if they need to sell it.

Also, good find on the "Luxury Sports Sedan". Never knew that.

well, here's the thing though...never mod anything that's not technically yours.

i paid $5000 for my first car from my parents, but never bothered to transfer the name over.....and eventually when my folks divorced they wanted me to get rid of it.

Your parents by the way, arent saying that just to make you ``uncool`` they have experience on their side. Save your money for your education. When you can go to college or university with some extra money, you`ll be grateful. The car won`t be there, specially if you make it more sports than luxuary sedan. A win is a win though.

i don't think the car is a out of the box sports car, but it definitely has potential to be a fun car to drive.

i mean, it's your car, you can do whatever you want with it, why cares what other people think? as long as you don't make it too outrageously ricey
