Recently, my CEL lighted up. Checked it out. It is code P1130, P1135 and P1155.
basically, Bank 1 sensor 1 and Bank 2 sensor 1 went bad.
And my car is California emission after multi-confirmation from lexus dealers.
This is the part I do not understand.
1998 ES300 has 4 Sensors for this part of problem
2 Air Fuel ratio sensors(both located nearby the engine) and 2 oxygen sensors.
When they are asking whether it is front or rear for the air fuel ratio sensor, it confuses me so much.
1. When they say Rear air fuel ratio sensor, is that indicated B1S1?
2. When they say Front Air fuel ratio sensor, is that indicated B2S1?
3. I got 2 different prices on B1S1 and B2S1 from official Lexus dealer website. When my local auto repair deal checked and told me they should be exactly same thing. Which one should I listen to?
4. If B1S1 and B2S1 have different price, anyone knows why?

You are correct on everything. B1S1 is known as the rear sensor, and B2S1 is the front. I personally don't know why there is a price difference, because I also noticed that on Denso's website, the sensors are the same. The price difference is so insignificant that I would stay with OEM.

I read your topic, have you successfully repaired your es300?

I went to densoaftermarket. Found the denso part number: 234-9009 front right 234-9007 front left. Denso OEM good enough.
I think I will just buy them from amazon. way much cheapers.

OK, i ordered the 9009 type of air fule ratio sensor. only 95$ bucks per compare to 250+ per at lexus dealer.
You can either repair urself, or find an auto shop spend 50 bucks per to get it replaced.
CEL went off, runs even smoother.
