Default at a stand still for now

my 94es300 is fine with cold start but once it goes into closed loop mode it is limp/ no power. stays running but has no acceleration in reverse or drive. the overdrive on/off makes no diference. i know my coolant temp sensor on passenger side of engine is broken because it snapped off when i was working on something unrelated. i have an oil leak somewhere and a few exhaust leaks but nothing that should cause the lack of power. have yet to get it to a center to get the obd2 codes up because i have no plates on it yet and dont want to get pulled over for something that stupid. and my buddy with an obd2 scanner is a procrastinator so maybe someone on here has had same or near same issues and may have some idea what could cause this and/or where to turn to next. that is after new fuel pump/filter downstream o2sensor new plugs/wires. any info will be usefull

Without a Code reader, you are blind. Any feedback that you may get from this forum will be guesswork.

If you can't borrow a code reader, and can't drive the car, than buy one, they are not that expensive, and will save you money in both the short and long term.

Retrieving the codes is mandatory.

Phil

Most likely the broken CTS is the problem. It's vital to the ECM to adjust timing, fuel injection and A/F ratio.

I picked mine up at Autozone for $79. It was a little better than the $59 as it also spit out the description not just the code. I think they may carry some cheap ones too that flash LEDs.

OBD2 only came around in '96. So a modern scanner will be no use to you.

You need to use your diagnostic port in the engine bay. I don't know the correct procedure, but I'm sure somebody does on here with a 2ES.
