Just replaced timing belt and now P0300 Random Multiple Misfiring
Replaced timing belt (97 ES300) last weekend in the garage. I lined up the lines and dotted line on the belt to the cam gears and crank gear. Started it up and it sounded fine and put everything back.
While driving around later that night, I noticed some very slight hesitations and engine has slight less power. I have checked the spark plug wires are secured and connected. There is no rip in the air intake plumbing. The next day, CEL came on. Code is P0300 Random Multiple Misfiring and a few other misfiring codes.
I suspect the belt might be off a tooth. I am going to recheck next weekend.
Any other suggestions on what to check?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I have replaced the timing belt on this car a few years ago. It went smoothly. I don't know what happened this time....

Possible the tensioner may have gone bad causing the belt to slip. Did you replace it or at least check it?
What happens if you clear the codes does it come right back?
My cam gear is bad on my motor causing the exact same codes.

I reseted the ECU but I could still feel the intermittent hesitation.
