Coolant drain and refill for 97-01
#21
Is it possible to replace the coolant drain plug on the bottom of the radiator. When I drained and refilled my coolant the spout continued to leak. I tightened and tried to push it in but still to a small leak. can you help me with this?

Inspect the spout. I believe it's supposed to have a small o-ring on it - you will have to drain the radiator to do that. If there is no obvious cause, a radiator replacement will be required, or you can permanently seal the area with something like JB Weld.

Appreciate the help

if i am replacing the thermostat do i still need to touch the drain plugs on the radiator and engine RR for coolant removal.

Most likely yes, but I don't know how much you will need to remove. You could just let the excess drain through the thermostat opening, so that you don't remove unnecessary amounts of coolant.

issue to identify drain plug #2 and #3
I found the drain plug #1 which is very easy, but when I moved to drain #2, I saw three sets of bolts and hole, one hole is with thread, one other hole without the thread. and I tried the 3/8 IO pipe it too big to insert into these holes, I am attaching the photo, and drain #3 is between the two pipe, but don't know I am looking at the right one?

thanks everyone can help?

I will be able to find all the rest of Drain Plugs, after emptied coolant on the drain #1 and #2, the rear drain plug is to look between this manifold , there is no coolant, and also after put distilled water, and still nothing come out of it. and I notice the bolt cannot turn much. I am afraid use force, so I just go ahead, processed with the project.
Any idea?
Thanks

#3 Next to the Transaxle/Y-Pipe
Hi MrBooby,
Yes, that is it, but I am trying counter clockwise with the bolt, it only moved 2 inch, so I didn't get the old coolant out from that, since I can't wait, sinceI got a lot old coolan out of #1 and #2 drain plugs, I end the project, just curious what cause it? May be the bolt was bad?
Thanks
