So its been a couple nights now that the factory alarm goes off for no reason in the middle of the night. Any ideas what the problem might be?

For some reason trunk light was on even after trunk lid is shut. I guess switch went bad?

You are on the right track. You will have to look to see if the trunk switch got bumped or dislocated or maybe it is bad. That may be what is setting off the alarm. It most likely is a switch(hood, trunk, door) that is "hair-triggered". Try setting the alarm and then go around to the trunk, hood, doors and try pressing firmly, pulling firmly, to see if you can set the alarm off.
