Just heard that my nephew blew the engine of his 2000 (I think) ES300. His father lives in Michigan and does not know a mechanic in Chicago. Can anyone suggest a skilled and reasonable Lexus Mechanic who might be able to find a used engine and then put it in?

(I joined this forum to ask the question and will check back daily.)

Sorry mate I can't help you finding a mechanic. What I can do is suggest finding a replacement engine on your own. The engine swap itself is not too difficult for any experienced mechanic.

You could try this website to see if any shops have been reviewed in that area. Don't expect much for small towns.
