Basically, a 2001 lexus es300, like mine, isn't worth more than 1-2k on a trade-in, or used privately is on AVERAGE with average mileage 4-5k selling price. From what i see on CL in the US, this is the case as well.
So that's fine that you overpaid for an anomaly car with crazy low mileage, but fact remains, any ES nowadays is worth **** all. Look on CL/eBay. Unless its an 00-01 coach edition with super low miles, every ES is in the 4digit price point

There are not many ES300's for sale these days for whatever reason. There is a Millennium Edition just like mine for sale in Edmonton, has been listed for about 3 weeks I think. 155,000km and they are asking about $8000. There is a guy selling a 1996 he is asking $10,000+ which I think is nuts. It has 80,000km but still no way the car is worth that. If I was in the market I would offer the guy around book price which is $4450.
BTW used cars are cheaper the farther east you go in Canada, at least the cars I've looked at.

That's very subjective. That's why I don't like KBB, it bloats the numbers beyond reason... I use a dealer-only resource for the canadian market.

Obviously, the prices vary depending on where you are, but they sell for a lot in my area.
