1997 ES300 Tricks and things I don't know ...
As a newbie I can't tell you how great this site is......
I would like those of you who own a 1997 ES300 to lead me to the threads or tell me things you have done that are not expensive...or a Trick ...i.e.: Did you know you can do this.... I would just like to know things about the car that might be thought of like and Easter Egg kind of thing...
This is my first Lexus...after owning many Maximas for me there is no going back....what a great car and deal I got on this vehicle. $2500 w/ 197000 miles and garage kept....I look forward to hearing from you ....

Most of the easter eggs are explained in the owners manual, but here are a few.
You can set the wipers into two different position. The lowest setting hides them below the hood line, and the higher setting is for changing blades and to avoid ice buildup during the winter.
You can silence the locking/unlocking beep with a volume **** under your right knee.
The side mirrors are heated(I was surprised).
There is a gas cap manual override cord in the trunk, in case the button doesn't work.
You can lock the trunk from valets, by pushing a button inside the glove box and then locking the glove box. This way the trunk button won't work. You obviously also need a special valet key.

I like the auto headlights too, they will stay on when you leave the car at night when you use the auto feature, if you are the nervous type and want to make sure they go off, just hit the lock button on the key a second press and they will turn off.
