well in response to the person with 180,000 miles on your car and those that have about the same or more, you are lucky. My es is dying with about 140,000 miles. So sad. Its ok though, we still have two more in the family.

IM the one with 180,000! It is still running strong. I wonder how much longer I have with it. I hope forever!

'97 with 93 thousand miles. Still going strong. Although I think I"m due for a replacement timing belt. Anyone know when this is supposed to happen? And whether the engine can literally freeze up if it's not done within recommendations?

I know it's not quite the same, but before finally deciding to break down a buy my '02 ES, I was driving a '92 Camry w/ 260k miles and no major problems. I feel like I could've hit 300k, but decided it was finally time.

Thumbs up

I have a 92 ES with 263,587, and it is still running strong. No major problems. Had to replace the valve cover gaskets and change a couple patrs on the clutch but thats it. Runs great and strong, Has a couple small dings in the door but other than that looks great. I don't think I'll ever own another brand car. Love it.

That's great!!!! It must have been maintained extremely well. My cousing bought his 95 with 282K for about $3,200 a few years ago for college, drove it till about 360K, then donated it. The ES is phenomenal. Besides mechanical maintainance, only problems he experienced were a horrible looking rock chipped hood, and MADDDD windnoise.

I grew up mostly here in Lexington, so going to UK was easiest (and cheapest!) choice. Nice to see another KY person here at CL.
