What to fix first?
Hey all,
I recently bought a 97 es 300 with 125,000 miles. After looking over the vehicle inspection here is a list of things that I will have to address in the near future. Slight corrosion of the brake lines, I was told this was not immediate but there was visible wear I saw underneath the car, which I would think is typical in this old of a car, especially in Ohio. There is a small oil leak, I believe is most likely caused by a valve issue or possibly the lines? I will be doing my own oil changes from here on out, using a better product may help this? Conventional oil has been used beforehand. Finally the tire tread is not great and will be need replacing, I'd say within the next couple months, it is not uneven, but from my understanding this can effect alignment and steering?
My question is which of these would need addressing first? Thanks for your help. I can have detailed pictures up tomorrow if that will help.

safety first. get brake lines fixed and tires, go with h rated tires, find the oil leak, if not real bad you can wait on that, just keep a eye on it. 125000 miles is nothing for a 97 es. lots of life in that car. Find a good local shop you can trust, go over the car real good. Tires and brakes are important. I don't know your budget, but I have learned you get what you pay for in car repair. Sounds like you have a good car, take care, be safe, use this forum for tips and info. Google search is great. Take care, have fun. i think your car calls for v rated tires. H rated will be fine. Take your time, i have a 04 ES 95000 miles, use conventional oil, change every 4000- 5000 miles, car runs great. Take care, hope this helps. Post some pics. if you can.

Well, if it were me I'd do the tires and whatever that entailed first (alignment and/or parts replacement.) Brake lines would be second. Unless it gets worse quickly, I'd save the oil leak for last.

thanks for the advice. There are no alignment issues just worn tread on the tires. I think I will take care of those first and brake lines second just before winter comes. Not much oil seems to be lost so I will address this last.
