Thumbs up Fresh Debadge

Performed a debadge on my car the other day... much cleaner!! I followed the other members' advice of dental floss and adhesive remover, and that coupled with a heat gun got those suckers right off. I fought the residual adhesive, probably made matters worse by using an expired solvent, but eventually got it off.

Finished it off by removing the "ghosting" around the letters with some Turtle Wax rubbing compound, followed by polishing compound. The result is seen below:

Nice work. I prefer having the badges on my darker paint color.

In the future, maybe plastidip them.

It's a type of Rubberized Black Paint. As I understand, it was designed to be sprayed onto hand tools to give you a better grip, but some people decided to try it on their cars. As a result, you can paint anything you want and then peel it off if you don't like it. Most common uses are wheels and badges. There is videos of people painting their whole cars.

*furiously googles Plastidip*

Hmm... you might be onto something here! I just might have to check this out. What's the harm if it's removable, right? I've only seen one horror story so far, but the guy apparently took a 1700PSI power washer to his new leased G37 and proceeded to blast the Plastidip off right along with the paint... epic fail!

I am going to look into renting a spray booth down here and trying this whole-car plastidip deal in the future, thanks for the tip
