Thanks to all. Am not a mechanic and did not understand various numbers you asked about. I took the car to my great independent mechanic and had him do the timing job. He told me the timing belt was not installed correctly 14,000 miles ago. Here's what he wrote on my invoice: "Performed timing belt service with water pump and needed pulleys and seals. Cleared the fault stored in the management system (p1351 indicates camshaft timing is off). I found the front bank (bank 2) camshaft pulley to be mistimed and off by one tooth in relation to the other marks. This was causing the p1351 fault to constantly reoccur. The timing belt replacement corrected this problem." Parts: Timing belt, idler bearing, tensioner bearing, tensioning dampener, water pump, crankshaft seal front, camshaft seals, main drive belt, pwr steering belt. The car drives excellently. Dealer did not reply to my email before I had the work done. Any recourse with Lexus? Cost to do the job was 65% of dealer's charges; my satisfaction with my mechanic is 110%!!
