Recently had drivers door fixed so key would work. Now alarm goes off when door is unlocked??? remote does not work at all any advice Thanks

When you twist the key twice, does it unlock all the doors?

No it does not.

Then it is likely the switch on the lock was either not connected, damaged, or there isn't one on the replacement lock. That switch tells the alarm system the door is being opened by the key instead of being tampered with. Without that signal, the system thinks the car is being broken in to. BTW, not sure why your remote does not work but it is logical to assume that whoever worked on the car also did something to screw up the keyless entry.

BTW what car do you have? I assume '99 ES going by your user name.

I'm always amazed by the wealth of knowledge that we have on this board. I don't think I've ever encountered such technical expertise on any other forum. And the best thing is, a lot of it comes from new members as well. I love it
