Default New Spark Plugs.. Motor has a "miss"

Hey everyone. I put new spark plugs in my 1996 ES 300 last night, and I noticed this morning it has a slight "miss" or "kick" once in a while while driving. Any thoughts or advice on this would be great. Thanks everyone

I take it that it ran OK before the new plugs??

Did you use Denso or NGK spark plugs? Did you check the gap on the plugs?

Find out which cylinder is missing and inspect the secondary ignition system.

It did run ok before the plugs. I used pre gapped Toyota plugs.

Is your check engine light on? A steady misfire would cause the check engine light to blink and therefore set a code indicating which cylinder is at fault.

Check for any codes, there may be a pending code which will tell you which cylinder has a misfire.

Perhaps you haven't plugged in the coil connector all the way. They get brittle on some 1MZ engines. Worst case scenario could be a bad coil...

No CEL. Could be the old wires and new plugs combo. Just puzzled by it. Should I throw the old plugs back in until I get new wires? Do I need to use Toyota wires or is there a good after market brand out there?

May as well just go OEM here, the original set comes with the plastic sheath and clips already installed. Do a search for OES1615180

If there in no CEL you could have a pending code in the ECM. Did you scan for codes?

Disable one cylinder at a time and see which one does not contribute.

You always replace the wires when you are replacing the spark plugs, that's what I do. Replace the wires!
