Default Oil Light

The oil light on my ES300 won't turn off. The oil is fine and I replaced the oil about 1,000 mile ago. I don't know if I should be worried, my mechanic said no. He said this can just be a faulty light or the oil is dirty or a million other things that don't matter. I wanted to turn to my Lexus owning family and see what they think.

Maybe your oil level sensor (on the oil pan) is broken.

What year is your ES300? If there is sludge present in the engine, then it will trigger the oil light.

It could be your oil pressure switch. Remove the wire from the switch with the key on. If the light goes out and you have good oil pressure then the switch is bad or has a bad ground.
