Draining Coolant Just from the Radiator??

I am very partial to the "drain & fill" methods for anything I can get away with. I did it to the transmission, obviously oil, and so now I'm curious if I can do it for the coolant. Winter is upon us and my current living situation isn't very conducive to jacking up the car to get to the drain plugs on the block. I was thinking I could just drain the radiator maybe 3 or 4 times (however the math works out) and be on my marry way.
I know a lot of people like to use a hose to flush everything out, but that seems like a bad idea considering the excessive minerals and whatever is in normal hose water.![Uhh...](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/1387914497.gif)
Am I wasting my time? Am I opening myself up to possible problems with mixing very old coolant with new? More likelihood of air bubbles, and more work burping?

Your gonna get people for and against this method.
I am in a similar situation where I can't really work on my car so I just drain the radiator and refill every 10,000 - 15,000 miles.
Now this does get expensive compared to the flushing method but I've had no issues so far.
I started to do this after I realized my dealer did the same thing.
When asking for pricing for radiator fluid change, the service advisor quoted me 2 prices, one for change and one for flush.
