resetting the computer has made a difference, I have not filled it up yet, I will do that tomorrow. but here is what I know, right now I still have 3/4 of a tank, I have been 130 miles, now before I reset the computer going the same distance I was sititng at about a half a tank, so one of the 3 three things I have done, has done something differently for gas milage.

You need a manual MPG calculation. Reset your Trip meter after you fill up.

There is no way that resetting the computer has doubled your gas mileage, and really there's no reason that it should have a significant effect at all. Your car didn't "learn" to get horrible mileage under the previous owner or that you fixed that by resetting the computer. The reason that your miles to empty display increased so much is a result of resetting the avg mpg to factory default, not because it suddenly now gets better mileage. Unless your air filter was almost completely clogged, changing it will have little if any effect on mpg either. So you are left with cleaning the MAF sensor increasing your mileage from around 16 to over 30. These things don't get 30mpg under the kind of mixed city/hwy conditions you say you're driving.

You said that at 130 miles it was now at 1/4 down when before it was 1/2, so you were saying it took half the fuel to go the same distance. How is that not doubling your mileage?

I filled it up today, it took just under 7 gallons. I got 19.2 miles per gallon, it was at 15.9 last time, with the same driving

7 Gallons is closer to 1/2 tank than a quarter. You said that the previous tank where you got 15.9 mpg included time idling at a football game, so you can't compare the mileage for those two samples unless this last one included the same amount of time spent idling.

For what it's worth, I have been calculating the mileage manually. I've found that "distance to empty" errs on the side of being conservative. It will usually claim about 380 miles, but I can get up to 440 at times (although around 400 is more the norm). I've found the average MPG that the car calculates is close (usually within 1 MPG) to reality.

Same here. I found mine accurate over a tank of gas within 0.1 L / 100 km.

I always manually calculate my gas mileage.
