Good day!
Recently after just turning 100K miles on my 2001 ES300 I started having a weird electrical problem where when i exit the vehicle with the key in my hand the Bell would come on as if the key was still in the ignition. Also the dome light would come on as well and stay on after I exited.
Furthermore sometimes my headlights would not go off as well.
In addition while outside the vehicle using the key to try to unlock the doors or open the trunk it
seldom works and I just put a brand new battery in the key.
It's as if the computer went wacky after I turned 100K? I was thinking it was the battery in the car however the car starts right up no problem every time. Other then changing the oil every 5K and a couple of O2 sensors I haven't had to do anything to the car.
Any ideas on what might be causing this?
Thanks,
Danfall

The key sensing switch in the ignition lock may be bad or a problem with the lock mechanism, as well as one or more of the door switches. Take a look at those first.

Thanks.
I'll look into it. If I need to replace the part where would I get it,
what should I expect to pay for it and any other information would be appreciated.
Thank you,
