I need a Hug I think I'm going to cry....
Well after 137 mile trip yesterday to Lakeland and back running flawlessly, I jump in it tonight to just move it and the car histates. Clears up after a bit and seems okay. Go for a short trip to check it farther and it starts running ruff. I get back to my house and it will barely idle. I figured I would video tape it to show you as no codes. I rev it again and then the codes start. Missfire on every cylinder. Turn it off.
I tried starting again and I hear a funny noise on the timiming belt side. The only thing I can figure is the re-used tensioner failed or one of the cam gears lossened up. I feel sick...
Someone please tell me non-interferance engine please!!!??? I was super **** about all the torque specs too!
On the bright side the car is 100% legal to drive and at least it happened in my driveway!

Well timing marks are spot, whew, and timing belt is nice and tight. Cam gears look good and pins look to be in place.
I am getting P1150 code as well, A/F Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1), but would that cause the car to miss fire real bad? When it first started to misfire I turned it off and ran the codes, nothing.

Well, I checked everything, cleared the codes and it started up perfectly. Reved great. All did was unplug some sensors and checked everything. Told the wife I was going for a test drive. Well, that was the end of the driveway.
Pulled back up ran the codes. Finally, something that makes sense P1354. VVT System Malfunction (Bank 2). Cleared them again, ran the car, ran the codes and same code. Finally something to go from that makes sense.
I'll check the screens tomorrow and hope its only the OCV at most and screen debree. A VVT replacement does not sound fun.

Ugh, screen on bank 2 was clean as a whistle. The OCV valve itself has it's own code correct?
Yeah it is P1663 Ocv Circuit Malfunction. Ugh, I wonder if changing the oil filter would help if debree got caught in it to help boost the oil pressure?

By the way I was having miss fires as well. Sounds like a bad OCV.

I would try swapping in a new OCV. I got the P1354 code, replaced my OCV and the issue was fixed! A few weeks later I got the corresponding code on the other bank and replaced that OCV as well. 2 OCV's and a few thousand miles later without any problems. I think I paid ~115$ IIRC

Thanks guys! I'll give that a try tonight. I swung by Toyota today and my new Toyota tech aquaintence was in the process of swapping the OCV and VVTi. It wasn't as bad as it looks.

Well, fingers crossed, no codes and no miss-fires. Drove about 10 miles on it. Will see what happens tomorrow.
I like having a parts motor to steal parts from! Hopefully that's the last for awhile.

Ran a tiny ruff this morning. Great the rest of the day until I let it sit for a few hours. Just jumped in and now I'm getting the other side P1349 VVT System Malfunction (Bank 1).
Hopefully swapping the other one in proves as successful as Bank 2.
